Spring revamp tips

A spring revamp doesn’t have to mean major renovations or big DIY projects – small design changes can make a big difference to the look and feel of your home and make it feel new again.  Here are ten easy ways to revamp your home this spring.

New curtains or blinds

In the spring, the dark heavy curtains that have kept the heat in just don’t work. Swap them out for light breezy curtains that let in lots of natural light in the summer months.

Curtains and blinds let you introduce some gorgeous, patterned fabrics into your home, and you can change them to match the season – bold florals are wonderful for the spring. If you have a neutral home, just the introduction of a bit of pattern on a Roman blind can be all you need to lift a room from bland to beautiful. Using an interior design to help you choose fabrics and get your curtains and blinds professionally made is a wise investment.

Reupholster tired furniture

Spring is the best time to revamp old furniture. Upholstering tired furniture is a sure way to transform an old piece and give a new look to a much-loved heirloom. Again, this is the time to choose a dramatic fabric with personality to make a real statement.

Change your bedding

Never underestimate the power of fresh spring bedding. Swap the bed linen from winter’s chunky blankets and throws to light summery floral quilts. Treat yourself to a fresh new duvet cover and pillowcases in a pretty shade. Linen bedding is affordable on the high street and comes in so many gorgeous shades. Think soft blush pink, pale teal and pale yellow. A new set of bedding is a great way to make a room feel brand new.

Go maximalist

After years of minimalism, it’s time to decorate your home to the max, living with things that give you pleasure and make you happy! Maximalism is a huge trend for 2023 but don’t worry, it’s not all clashing prints and bright colours – it’s more about expressing your personality and creative flair through your choice of colour, pattern and accessories. Layering, texture and toning colours will create a space that is stylish yet comfortable to live in.

Showcase treasured ornaments such as beautiful glasses or eccentric trinkets in a cabinet or cluster collections on bookshelves, trays, along mantlepieces or on top of coffee tables.

Done well, maximalism creates a home that lifts our spirits and promotes positive feelings. We all need that nowadays!

Get wallpapering!

Wallpaper adds instant style to your home and is really on trend in 2023. Paper a whole room, an accent wall or some panelling. From traditional florals to contemporary geometrics and tropical botanicals or animal motifs, there is something for everyone.

Floral wallpaper works with any decorative style – whether it’s vintage, retro or contemporary. Geometric prints give instant art deco glamour to bedrooms and bathrooms and nature-inspired papers will inject nature into your home all year round and instil a sense of serenity and calm.

This spring it’s time to have fun with our homes again!
