How we work
We understand that each interiors project is a financial and emotional investment and do everything we can to ensure that it’s a smooth-running, and enjoyable experience for our clients. The process is an ongoing discussion between us, and we welcome each client’s involvement, incorporating their ideas to ensure that their project is specially tailored to meet their needs.
Clair meets every client in person and coordinates each project herself with the support of her team, to ensure that the final outcome fulfils expectations, and of course, finishes on time and within budget.
Initial consultation: This visit gives us the opportunity to meet at your property, discuss your requirements, style preferences, budget, and timescales, and talk through the design process.
An hour’s consultation is charged at a fixed rate of £150 plus VAT, which is deductible against the design fee when we are appointed to work on your project.
Proposal: Following our consultation, we will send you a fee proposal detailing the services we can provide and their costs.
Design: On approval of our proposal, we will get started on the design concepts which will be presented as mood boards and furniture layouts. After your feedback, we develop these ideas further.
The design recommendations will include colour schemes, 2D furniture layouts, 3D room visuals, mood boards and samples; fabrics, wallpapers and paints, floor coverings and other materials relevant to your project — tiles, ironmongery, bathroom brassware etc.
We can also provide elevations, colour renders, lighting and electrical plans, and drawings for bespoke fitted furniture from wardrobes and desks to media walls. Requirements may vary from room to room.
After the designs have been presented, we make any necessary changes or additions following your feedback, and the final plan is then approved before proceeding to the next stage.
*In addition to interior design, our clients often require garden design and work. This is the ideal opportunity to ensure the inside and outside spaces complement each other to create a thoughtful and harmonious design.
We regularly combine our services with those of garden designers and landscapers who we can recommend and work with as part of the team.
We can design bespoke furniture and arrange its production and installation by specialist cabinet makes and carpenters.
Project Coordination and Administration
Good project coordination is crucial for a successful refurbishment. It starts with thorough and detailed planning and preparation, and the appointment of a skilled and professional team. Over 16 years we have built a solid network of professionals, skilled craftsmen, and key trades who work constructively and harmoniously together to a very high standard.
We will recommend the right craftsmen for your project, coordinate their work, and keep you in touch throughout the process to completion.
Through our knowledge of national and international suppliers we can access products not widely available. We provide a procurement and budget management service, with all furniture and fittings specifications and costs presented for you to approve before any goods are bought.
Installation and Styling
As the final stage of each full design service, we will arrange the installation of furniture, fittings, window coverings and accessories and the styling and dressing of rooms.
