{"id":5944,"date":"2023-06-25T21:38:20","date_gmt":"2023-06-25T20:38:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/?p=5944"},"modified":"2023-06-25T21:38:23","modified_gmt":"2023-06-25T20:38:23","slug":"georgian-town-house-ground-floor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/clairs-projects\/georgian-town-house-ground-floor","title":{"rendered":"Georgian Town House Ground Floor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Our client had always wanted to live in a Georgian town house so when&nbsp;a five storey&nbsp;property&nbsp;close to the centre of Bath came on the&nbsp;market, she snapped it up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The house was originally built in the Regency period as a business, but it had already been converted into a private home when the client took ownership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The client wanted the ground floor to be used as a space to welcome guests into her new home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Hall.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Hall.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5947\" width=\"689\" height=\"879\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Hall.jpg 549w, https:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Hall-235x300.jpg 235w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 689px) 100vw, 689px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The hallway leads into a reception room overlooking the street. Two Cristol tiered chandeliers by Aerin from Circa Lighting added old-world glamour and contemporary design to the space. The hand-blown stri\u00e9 glass globes and sculptural, modern fixtures in antique brass bounce light around the high ceilings beautifully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reception room was designed to be a bright contemporary room for the family to hang out in. The Hepworth armchair from Love Your Home,  with its&nbsp;soft curves, added a modern touch.&nbsp;The Matsuri Kenzo blue rug was also from Roche Bobois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rooms were painted in a palette of Farrow &amp; Ball neutral colours including Bone, School House White and Shadow White. The spindles on the staircase in the hallway were painted in Railings.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We commissioned bespoke Oriental style lacquered cabinets which were spray painted in Little Greene\u2019s&nbsp;Basalt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Reception-2-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Reception-2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5953\" width=\"648\" height=\"971\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Reception-2-1.jpg 467w, https:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Reception-2-1-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 648px) 100vw, 648px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Bespoke&nbsp;artwork by Adam Ellis studio&nbsp;was commissioned&nbsp;to fit in the alcoves above the cabinets.&nbsp;Adam Ellis Studio&nbsp;is a London based fine art and design practice experienced in creating unique and vibrant interiors for hospitality and private spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Reception-1-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"600\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Reception-1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5952\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Reception-1-1.jpg 900w, https:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Reception-1-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.clairstrong.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Reception-1-1-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;Rote Brass&nbsp;pendant ceiling light was from Bert Frank. This&nbsp;geometric shade in contrasting slatted diamond plates of brass and black&nbsp;diffuses&nbsp;a dual-sided light&nbsp;into the room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pair of Aureol wall lights in bronze with navy silk shades were from Tigermoth Lighting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Elona table lamps in brass with a black iron base were from Pooky Lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The little ground floor WC was tiled in Mimica Bianco Ravenna Gold Matt Porcelain from Mandarin Stone and painted in Card Room Green by Farrow &amp; Ball. The basin and fittings were from Catchpole and Rye. The Otto mirror in brass is from Graham &amp; Green.
