I am always asked where I get my inspiration from. I have a background in art, but I have always been obsessed with interiors and love to browse magazines, websites and Instagram for beautiful rooms that give me ideas. Here are a few gorgeous rooms I think really work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a double-fronted house in Spitalfields, overlooked by skyscrapers, lawyer Phillip Lucas has recreated an 18th-century house in painstaking detail. In this room with its beautifully restored floorboards, elegant panelling and palette of wonderful drab colours were it not for the radiators, you\u2019d hardly know you weren\u2019t in a perfectly preserved Georgian house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The owners of this pretty Victorian terrace in Hove have extended the back of their property to make a beautiful light kitchen. They’ve installed the Real Shaker Kitchen from deVOL and painted it in dark olive. The cupboard catches, knobs and cup handles are handcrafted brass. They’ve softened the concrete floor with a soft rug to make the room look and feel a little less like a kitchen. Beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This lovely bedroom is all about Farrow & Ball’s popular muted rose Sulking Room Pink which has been used with School House White to create this relaxing, yet cool vibe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I chose this room because I just love the colour palette and the symmetry of the blue cabinets. The incredible oversized rattan light, mix-matched chairs and leather sofa are unexpected choices but they work in this space. The zebra rug manages to anchor all the little side tables and makes the room look modern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pink bathrooms are on trend and, like any other colour in the spectrum, there are a multitude of shades to choose; from the palest calamine, powder or blush pinks to the bolder and more striking fuchsia and candy colours. In this room, the contrast between the wooden floor, the botanical wallpaper and the\u00a0pretty pink tiles is unexpected but creates a glamorous room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Edwardian semi-detached, 5 bedroom, 3 storey house in London can be rented out as a location house for photoshoots. The circular table and modern chairs reflect the round shape of the windows and are perfectly positioned in the middle of that wonderful doorway. And oh my goodness, that floor….!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kate from Mad About the House was asked to consult on the concept and look of some rental flats for Obbard. This office shows how classic furniture and a neutral palette don’t have to be boring. Less sometimes is more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This large Victorian house in East Dulwich is another shoot location. Here, the simplicity of the hexagonal white floor tiles, pale walls and traditional sanitary ware is disrupted by the bright green of the bath and toning shelves. No other colour – just a flash of green. Wonderful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
