Recently I\u2019ve been inspired by the wallpaper and fabric designs of contemporary artist Jessica Zoob<\/a>. Her world-renowned paintings are the basis for her textile designs, and they translate beautifully from paper to fabric.<\/p>\n

Jessica is a contemporary impressionist, and her luxury interior designs pieces can only be described as \u2018fine art for interiors\u2019. They have a magical, dreamlike quality that dazzles and delights the imagination.<\/p>\n

Using oil paints and acrylic colours, Jessica creates incredibly raw yet remarkably hopeful paintings. Her work is a celebration of beauty in all its forms, \u201cBe it in urban decay, a Hebridean storm, or a butterfly\u2019s wing.\u201d \u2013 Jessica Zoob<\/p>\n

The Life and Work of an Artist<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jessica formally trained at Central School of Art and Nottingham University. She has travelled extensively in China and Indonesia and you can see the influence of travel in her art. She then spent 7 years as a theatre designer at some of Britain\u2019s finest venues but since 2000, Jessica has worked exclusively as an artist.<\/p>\n

Zoob has exhibited at some of London\u2019s top contemporary galleries and her works can be found in private collections worldwide. Her wonderful collection of wallpapers, cushions, velvets and fine linens were produced in collaboration with luxury interior design company Romo Black Edition<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Dreaming\u2019 collection reminds me of peeling wallpaper, layers of paint, and decaying decadence. Like the backgrounds you might see in a fashion photo shoot, taken in an old palazzo in Italy, with crumbling plaster walls and layers of colour.<\/p>\n

Her paintings are soft and vibrant, impressionistic and abstract. They are \u201cimages to dream into\u201d as Zoob puts it herself. The feminine colours and impressionist style of Jessica\u2019s work reminds me of another female artist, Amelie Laurence<\/a>. I first saw Amelie\u2019s work in a Santa Monica boutique and feel her paintings would also fit seamlessly into contemporary luxury interior designs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
