Welcome back! Today I\u2019m predicting a few more of 2020\u2019s key\ninterior design trends. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We covered rainbow colour schemes, painted doors, earth\ntones and refined luxury in part one. You can read that here. In part two we\ndiscuss textured walls, pared-back versions of popular trends and an ancient\ncomeback…  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muted Tropic<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tropical trend has been going strong for a number of\nyears now. Next year I think bright colours will slowly be replaced by more\nmuted hues, and we\u2019ll see more of a relaxed bohemian vibe. This trend will also\nbring plenty of texture, lots of natural materials, and gorgeous painterly prints.\nDon\u2019t worry; there will still be plenty of pineapples. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Textured Walls<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wall panelling, paint effects, embossed or flocked\nwallpaper, exposed brick… all these and more will come under the general\ntrend of textured walls next year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like this trend because it\u2019s diverse and it will lend\nblank spaces a touch of much-needed character. This is especially important\nwith the prevalence of identikit new build homes.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rattan and Wicker\nFurniture<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Texture seems to be the overwhelming theme of 2020, and this\nof course extends to furniture. We\u2019ll see lots of rattan and wicker being\nbrought in from the outdoors. But it\u2019s not the rattan of your childhood. The\nrattan furniture we love is light-toned, beautifully crafted and\never-so-chic.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ancient Classicism<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plates bearing Ancient Greek motifs, Roman busts,\ncolumn-shaped side tables… it can only mean one thing: ancient classicism is\nback in fashion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love this trend because it takes the serious business of antiques\nand makes it playful and irreverent. And who doesn\u2019t<\/em> want a Roman bust in their entryway? They do say trends are\ncyclical… <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
