I love my city and could wax lyrical for days about all the wonderful things happening here. Instead I\u2019ll try to keep it to just the odd post here and there. With that in mind, this is the autumn\/winter edition of \u2018a local\u2019s guide\u2019 to the best events in Bath.<\/p>\n<p>If you thought summer looked good wait until you see what we\u2019ve got in store for winter&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kenneth Armitage Centenary Sculpture Exhibition, Victoria Art Gallery (10<sup>th<\/sup> Sept &#8211; 27<sup>th<\/sup> Nov)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Marking the centenary of Kenneth Armitage\u2019s birth is an exhibition of his work at the Victoria Art Gallery in Bridge Street. This is a huge exhibition, exclusive to Bath, featuring more than 65 of his sculptures. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.victoriagal.org.uk\/events\/kenneth-armitage-1916-2002-centenary-sculpture-exhibition\">Read more about this exhibition here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bath Film Festival (3<sup>rd<\/sup> \u2013 13<sup>th<\/sup> November)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Presenting its 26<sup>th<\/sup> annual programme of events, Bath Film Festival returns with \u201cfresh features, world classics, emerging talent showcases, insider talks and special events.\u201d Taking place at venues across the city, the festival offers new ways for the public to enjoy cinema. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bathfilmfestival.org.uk\/\">Check the website<\/a> for details of all screenings and events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bath Rotary Club Fireworks Display (5<sup>th<\/sup> November)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the best bonfire night celebrations in Bath is hosted by The Rotary Club at the Bath Recreation Ground. A family-friendly event in aid of charity. Tickets are <a href=\"http:\/\/bathboxoffice.org.uk\/whatson\/bath-rotary-fireworks-display-2\/\">available in advance here<\/a>, but can also be bought at the gate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bath on Ice and Glow in the Dark Mini Golf (18<sup>th<\/sup> Nov \u2013 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Jan)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A family favourite in the centre of Bath! An outdoor ice rink and mini golf with a difference to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. Located in the Royal Victoria Park in the centre of Bath, there is also a cafe and fully-licensed bar. To find out more and buy tickets <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bathonice.com\/\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bath Christmas Market (24<sup>th<\/sup> Nov \u2013 11 Dec) <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>No winter \u2018what\u2019s on\u2019 list would be complete without a mention of Bath\u2019s world-famous <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bathchristmasmarket.co.uk\/\">Christmas market<\/a>. The market is the perfect place to do a spot of Christmas shopping with 170 stalls selling high-quality artisan goods. Even better, the majority of stallholders are from Bath and the surrounding region, so it\u2019s a wonderful showcase of Bath talent. Items on offer include decorations, gifts, handmade toys, local artwork, jewellery and food &amp; drink.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Enchanted Christmas at Westonbirt Arboretum (25<sup>th<\/sup> Nov \u2013 18<sup>th<\/sup> Dec)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Westonbirt\u2019s trees light up against the night sky every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening between November 25<sup>th<\/sup> and December 18th. A magical one-mile illuminated trail through the arboretum for all-ages. Children can also meet Father Christmas and take part in Christmas craft activities. Rumour has it there will be a carousel too! Tickets must be bought in advance and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forestry.gov.uk\/westonbirt-christmas\">can be done so here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A History of Fashion in 100 Objects, Fashion Museum Bath (on display until 1<sup>st<\/sup> Jan)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A fascinating look at how fashion and history intertwines. This sounds like a great exhibition for anyone who loves fashion, design and history. The exhibition features pieces from as far back as the 1500s and showcases the works of famous designers. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fashionmuseum.co.uk\/events\/history-fashion-100-objects\">Find out more here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Got any events you\u2019d like to share?
